She looked around for a moment and returned her hazel eyes back to him. “I’m not too sure. Maybe flowers..”
“I—ah, oh.” He gave a soft, slightly embarrassed bout of laughter— lips curling into an apologetic smile. “Excuse me… I wasn’t aware— that would be me. I, ah.. I’m a florist, you see.”
Retrieving his hand, he looked around, from right to left, at her question. “Smell..? I don’t believe so.. what do you smell?” After all, nothing seemed out of ordinary to him.
Cam looks down at the hand curiously, before gently taking it in his own and giving a light shake. “Nice to meet you, Felicity… I’m Cam.” He returns her smile softly, feeling a bit at ease due to her delicate seemingly demeanour.
((aww, don’t worry— tumblr eats asks too often, happens all the time!))
”.. Mm? Hello there, miss.”
He gives her a soft smile and nods his head slowly.
-She grins.- Yes, I agree! I do love argyle. ♪ -She purses her lips in thought.- Nn… but I like helping Mama, so it doesn’t make me all that great or anything. Hah, I could never be cooler than you two! But I guess I sort of take after the both of you, so who knows? ♥
-She hums happily, admiring the flowers in her hands with gentle eyes.- Wow, Cam… they’re so pretty! You’re really good at this sort of thing— one day, you’ll have to teach me how to keep flowers looking this healthy, okay? I’m jealous. ♥
Liking to help others.. it’s a very important component in maturity. [smiles thoughtfully] Nevertheless, you’ll surely become a wonderful adult… naturally, I mean, not through any more terrifying spells.
[he kneels down to her height, long, thin fingers carefully grazing over the petals of the bouquet in her hands] Thank you. … Really, it’s.. just love.. love and care make any flowers bloom happily, it’s what also keeps them healthy after being cut.. things will live longer to experience such feeling, if just for another day… [musing softly, he shook himself slightly into a more alert state] I think you do have what it takes to grow lovely flowers, Cheryl.
((which is totes super okay. c:))
Every.. day? [corner of his lips curling into a half-smile, he raises a hand to rub the nape of his neck]
You don’t have to make up for anything, but.. your company is always welcome, Phillip.
Yes, I agree… I can’t believe I had to wear something like that… -A faint pink tints the highest part of her cheeks as she smiles.- Eh? Am I really? I hope so. I want to be mature and cool like you someday ♪ Though I don’t seem to be very cool yet… -She pouts cutely, thus proving why she’ll never be cool.-
Yes, he’s been all over the place lately. I worry about his health when he does that, but I’m sure he’ll be fine. -She lets go of him and winks, placing a finger to her pursed lips.- It’ll just have to be our super special awesome trip, then! ♥
At least.. when you do grow older, you’ll know better for the future. Your argyle prints do suit you better, after all, haha.
Mhm, you are, to help your mother in the shop nearly every day.. not many people your age are so willing to be helpful. [chuckling, he ruffles her hair gently]
You’re well on your way, who knows.. you may even be cooler than me and your brother combined.
He hasn’t visited me on his days off like usual, but, yes, I’m sure he’ll be okay.. if he’s as half as smart as his bright little sister. [smile not leaving his face, he turns to pick up two modest bundles of flowers, bouquets of pink roses and marguerites, and hands one to Cheryl] Ahah, that is shall be. And, if we’re lucky, we may be able to get back by lunchtime.
-Laughing, she couldn’t help but smile behind her hand.- Ah— I’m sorry if the image of me all grown up frightens you, Cam. I was pretty freaked out, myself. But I’m little again, so it’s all okay now. -She wiggles her fingers in front of her face as if reassuring herself, humming.-
-Following his finger as he tapped her and going cross-eyed, she immediately brightened at the mention of the Goddess Pond.- Ahh—! Can we really?! That would be the best ever! ♥
It was just.. startling.
Especially in such clothing.
[he raised a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, shaking his head faintly, as if scolding whoever thought to cast such a spell on her]
Yes, hoping it stays that way too, besides.. [he gave her a brief wink] if you ask me you’re very mature for your age.
[smiling widely, he can’t help but laugh softly through his nose at her excitement]
Of course, if you’d like something to do.
We could invite your brother along, but… it seems he’s been quite busy lately.
She nodded, looking down at the snow for a moment, pondering as to how to respond. “I suppose it is quite a commitment.. Though, I do enjoy it, and it is a good way to spend the time. For me, it is more of a way of life. Something I have become accustomed to.” The sunlight shone down on her, warming her face ever so gently. She smiled, basking in the glory and warmth that she missed from standing out in the cold. She glanced up to the sky and noticed a few gray clouds making their way over toward them. She frowned slightly, not wanting to welcome the possible change in weather. She let out a tiny, almost inaudible sigh, realizing that there was nothing she could do to change nature herself. She would just have to enjoy what time she had before it began to snow again.
His response surprised her slightly. His way of speaking and thinking was something most people, from her experience, did not have. A soft smile passed her lips when he smiled at her. She was intrigued, and hoped the storm would stay away long enough for her to learn more. “You are right.. It is good to hear someone say that.” Her voice was soft, and soothing when she spoke. His statement brought her into a meditative frame of mind, and she stood there, looking dumbfounded for a moment before shaking her head and snapping herself out of it. “You are quite interesting. Perhaps you could tell me what it is you think about when you come here? Perhaps life? The universe?”
“A way of life… hmm.” He mused this over with slightly pursed lips, as if rolling around the sentence on his tongue, tasting the words of their potential meaning. He understood what she meant once he applied it to his own habits; arranging flowers and growing them, for him, was a way of life, something he couldn’t function without. Even these walks could be taken as a way, he had always done so since living in Bluebell, every week, routine yet they never lost their calming effect. “I think.. it’s good of you to have something like that, to stick to it, not many people.. are so disciplined.” He nodded firmly, meeting Nori’s eyes briefly with a small smile playing on his face.
Something grumbled overhead and the whistle of sharp wind could be heard in the distance; a storm, perhaps the furthest thing from favourable at this very moment, especially right after a break of sun… almost seemed mocking, in a way.
Cam tipped his head to the side slightly as Nori’s gaze shifted into something thoughtful— as if she was looking far away; it was always so interesting to catch people in such a state, one could only wonder what thoughts occupied them so heavily.
“I.. uh… interesting?” Stumbling, a faint wash of pink dusting his cheeks, he found himself flattered at the abrupt compliment, people rarely knew him well enough to bring up compliments other than his profession, it was something he wasn’t used to in the slightest. “Thank you, but.. the universe? I couldn’t imagine where to begin pondering something like that.. but,” he bit the inside of his cheek for a moment. “But, life.. sometimes, yes, how people are, why they do the things they do, why things are the way they are…” He shook his head, pale brunette strands of hair shaking slightly in tandem, stopping himself before losing his track of thought. “I’m sure.. you must come upon interesting thoughts while meditating…?”
